Rorie’s SECOND ALBUM

WELCOME! THIS PAGE INCLUDES ALL THINGS SECOND ALBUM: UPDATES, NEWSLETTERS, OPTIONS TO SUPPORT, AND MORE. THANKS FOR BEING HERE!

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF NEW ALBUM:

  • The final compilation album will be titled ‘Stones of Remembrance.’

  • The sound of this new album will range from singer-songwriter to acoustic pop to synth pop.

  • The lyrical style will be indie-Christian. The songs are inspired by Scripture, books that I’ve read, and real life stories. A few of the songs from my most recent EP ‘Resonate’ will be a part of the final project (you can find that EP here).

  • Each song will release one at a time - I have written the songs mostly in the same season, and they all belong together in some way, but current reality has shown that it makes more sense to record and release in a spaced-out manner.

  • I will be writing “letters/postcards” (see below or to the right) with stories-behind-the-songs, devotionals, and thoughts, at various times throughout the album release. I hope this will be a fun way to share more about my thought process when I’m writing and releasing music!

A LITTLE BIT OF MY STORY:

Hey, I’m Rorie! I’m a singer-songwriter-producer currently creating from Houston, TX where I live with my husband Steven. Back in 2015, I released my first official EP as “Rorie” and then launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of a new single called “Restore.” I was inspired to write “Restore” while working for an anti-human trafficking organization in NYC, and gathered a team of dear friends to make a song and video to raise awareness. This season of life impacted me deeply, and it was during this time in New York that I knew songwriting was something that I really wanted to do. In the following years, I was able to independently release three EPs and an album (which was also funded through Kickstarter) by the grace of God and your support.

One of the biggest things that I’ve learned over the years is that my identity is not in what I create, or really anything that I do. The music that I write is just a small part of a story that is much bigger than me. A big theme that you’ll find in my music is hope. My hope is ultimately in Jesus, and it’s my prayer that this will be evident in my songs and anything that I write. I have seen and experienced the way that life can be very painful and merciless at times, and sometimes it can feel like one wave after another. Even on our best days, we can look out at the world and know that things are not the way that they should be. I am compelled to create because I know the Creator. Even when I don’t understand everything in this life, I trust that He is on the move. In Jesus there is love, grace, salvation, redemption, truth, forgiveness, and life (and so much more). If I can share even a small part of God’s amazing love with someone who listens to my music, then it will be worth it!

As a natural introvert, it has at times been a real journey to share. But as the years go by, I still find myself singing day and night. So if this music is something that interests you, thank you for being here!! I am so grateful and pray that it will bless your life in some way. Thanks for taking the time to read and check out this page, and I’m looking forward to sharing this new album with you! Much Love!

SUPPORT THE MAKING OF THIS NEW ALBUM:

Including this section because I’ve received some questions about this! While I’ve decided not to do a Patreon or crowdfunding at this moment in time, I did want to list some ways that you can support the making of the songs if you find yourself wanting to do so at any point during this project.

As a completely independent artist, all of the music that I record and release is created and funded by me. I have been producing the new album on my own, and typically create my own photography and videography. However, it’s helpful to get each song professionally mastered, mixed, etc. Anything extra goes towards basic publicity (Ads, submitting for playlist consideration, etc.), which is surprisingly essential to the release plan. I am releasing this new album one song at a time so that I can save up for these costs in-between each release, however long it takes.

  • SEND donation via Paypal: Anything you give will go directly towards the mixing/mastering and release of these songs. If you include your mailing address in the memo then I will send you a thank you card :)

  • DOWNLOAD music on Bandcamp: Bandcamp provides the option to pay more (e.g. - $20 for an album instead of $5 on iTunes) for your downloads. You’ll be funding upcoming projects while getting something immediately in return!

  • ORDER existing merch: I have previously created CDs, vinyl records, and posters for sale on my merch store. Profits from all orders will go directly towards funding this new album.

  • ADD to Playlists, Download, Stream, and Share: as usual, basic word of mouth goes a long way!!! Thank you so much for listening and engaging with each song release. One of my goals is to create music that is both honest and high quality. The mere fact that you may listen and make one of these songs a part of your life means so much.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to read through and check out this page!
